This North Carolina Indie Rock quartet made guitars sound like they still had undiscovered possibilities in the early '90s. Early Archers releases featured thrilling slacker anthems. As time passed, the band relied less and less on power chords. The band split up shortly after the release of "White Trash Heroes," a somewhat experimental (and poorly received) record. Front man Eric Bachman went on to release albums as Crooked Fingers. These guys are just below the Psychedelic Furs on the All-Time Worst Band Names list.
