Formed in 1977, Black Flag were one of the earliest, best, and most important Hardcore bands. Raymond Pettibon, the artist responsible for Black Flag's infamous cover and flyer artwork, is actually Greg Ginn's brother. Black Flag make an appearance in Penelope Spheeris' 1981 Punk documentary, "Decline of the Western Civilization." Greg Ginn was the only constant member of Black Flag throughout the band's career.
