Dierks Bentley plays soulful, timeless-sounding new traditional country music inspired by Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings. Dierks Bentley moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 19 to pursue a singing career. Country superstars Vince Gill and Amy Grant "discovered" Dierks Bentley. Before breaking, Bentley got a job at The Nashville Network (TNN) in the music library and then in the royalties department. Bentley wasn't raised on country music. He had to seek it out on his own, then gave his life over to it like a religion.
