Over their short five year life as a band, Discount's music evolved from bashful Punk-Pop to explosive, quirky Post-Punk. Discount started as a Ska-Punk band from Vero Beach, Fla., influenced by bands such as Operation Ivy. Discount quickly dropped the Ska influence in their early songs, instead honing their Bay Area-style Punk Pop sound. By their final album, Discount's sound evolved into more complicated songs, influenced by D.C. bands such as Fugazi. Discount broke up in 2000 when guitarist Ryan Seagrist moved to the U.K. to be with Manda Rin from Bis. She's now his wife.
