This Mexican arranger and bandleader's good-humored and unpredictable big band music made a big comeback in the 1990s. Many of Esquivel's most far out 1950s records were made in order to show off new stereophonic sound systems. Esquivel also had a big nightclub act that married his forward-thinking charts with dancing girls. Esquivel once recorded two bands in two different studios simultaneously to create "real" stereo sound.
