Washington, D.C.'s Fugazi formed in 1988; they consistently set new standards for Punk -- in music and in business practice. Fugazi members have also been in the Teen Idols, Minor Threat, Rites of Spring, Egghunt, Embrace, and Girls Against Boys. Fugazi's anti-corporate stance keeps their ticket prices at $6 and their self-distributed record prices low. Fugazi co-founder Ian MacKaye also co-founded Dischord Records, home of Jawbox, Nation of Ulysses, and Rites of Spring.
