Johnny Copeland
Indicative of music he heard as a child, Johnny Copeland?s music is a blend of the Funk of New Orleans and the Jump Blues of Kansas City. Although he began recording in the late ?50s, he didn?t begin to attract a following until the early ?80s. His fiery delivery and legendary high energy performances earned him the title of the ?Texas Twister.? Known for his horn-driven swinging sound, Copeland was also able to synthesize African rhythms into his records.
