Jon Hassell
Hassell, Jon (b. Memphis, 22 March 1937).
American composer and trumpeter. He studied with Stockhausen and Pousseur in Cologne (1965-7) and in the late 1960s began performing with Terry Riley and La Monte Young. His works, some with Brian Eno, synthesize ethnic and electronic music. He developed a new technique for trumpet playing.
