Rockabilly, rock, guitar and feedback fans have revered Wray's instrumentals since the 1950s. Wray wrote his menacing signature tune "Rumble" on the spot one night when someone requested his band play a "stroll." Legend has it that Wray got that super fuzzy distorted guitar sound by punching holes in his amp with a pencil.
