This Kentucky group fuses the lonesome moan of Neil Young with walls of guitars and reverb, beards and bare feet. After two full-length albums and a few singles on the Bay Area-based label Darla, the band went major in 2003. Lonesome alt country that echoes mournfully in the distance. Vocals are dark, hollow wails and reverb casting gloomy shadows.
