Raised in a Moroccan suburb of Brussels, Natacha Atlas moved to England as a teen, where she got involved in the alternative scene, collaborating with Apache Indian ("Arranged Marriage"), !Loca! ("Timbal") and Jah Wobble ("Rising Above Bedlam" and "Take Me to God"). But it was on two albums as vocalist with Transglobal Underground ("Dream of 100 Nations" and "International Times") that Atlas really found her ethno-techno niche, which she would explore in subsequent solo projects like "Diaspora", "Ayeshteni" and "Mish Maoul". She collaborated with David Arnold on the "Stargate" soundtrack.
