Paul Butterfield

Butterfield's ferocious harp work made him one of the first white players who could sit in with early-'60s Chicago Blues-men.
Under the friendship of Muddy Waters, Butterfield carved out a distinct sound in the Chicago blues scene.
With guitarist Michael Bloomfield in tow, the group made its smoking-hot debut in 1965.
The band's self-titled debut and the follow-up, "East-West" defined them as scholars of the true Blues sound.
Butterfield continued to record up until his passing in 1987.
