News Ticker: U2, Bryan Ferry, The Cure and Dusty Springfield


U2’s first concert video Live at Red Rocks will finally be released on DVD September 29th. The 1983 concert from the famed Colorado venue will also include five unreleased tracks and a director’s commentary. Additionally, the band will also reissue another live album, Under a Blood Red Sky. Roxy Music’s Bryan Ferry will receive BMI’s Icon Award at a London ceremony on October 7th. Past recipients of the songwriting honor include the KinksRay Davies, Van Morrison and Peter Gabriel. Members of Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance and 30 Seconds to Mars will remix new songs by the Cure for the band’s upcoming EP Hypnagogic States, out digitally and on CD September 13th. All artist royalties from the EP, which features four songs from the Cure’s upcoming new album, will go to the International Red Cross. A pair of Dusty Springfield biopics are reportedly in the works. Nicole Kidman will produce and star in one written by The Hours writer Michael Cunningham, while Broadway vet Kristin Chenowith also has her own Dusty film in development.
