Challenging Carrie Underwood for the title of most All-American girl, Taylor Swift has lived up to her name with the speed of her ascent to fame. In 2008 the country-pop star sold the most records in the USA and 2009 wasn't too shabby either with album Fearless selling by the supersized-skipload. It was also named Album Of The Year at the American Country Music Awards, making Swift the youngest artist ever to win the accolade.

A terrible over-achiever, Swift had written a novel by the age of 10 and was plucked from karaoke obscurity at 11, hawking her covers round Nashville in the hope of becoming the next Dolly Parton. She began writing her own songs at 12, was signed by the age of 15 and now has the world at her feet even though she still can't legally drink in the USA.
