The Bangles
The Bangles went from the Paisley Underground to one of the best-selling acts of the '80s -- with help from Prince and MTV.
When the Bangles began they were called the Bangs.
The band's early repertoire consisted of covers by '60s and '70s pop bands Big Star, the Merry-Go-Round and Love.
The Bangles started out as part of LA's Paisley Underground, a scene built around young, '60s-influenced bands.
The band would top the charts three times before the '80s were over.
