The English Beat

The English Beat were one of the most successful bands to emerge out of the late '70s Ska Revival scene in England.
The multicultural band had two singers: Rankin' Roger and Dave Wakeling.
Special Beat Service (1982) finally broke the band in America, thanks to airplay of songs such as "Save It For Later."
The English Beat broke up later in '82, with Wakeling and Roger forming General Public.
Dave Cox and David Steel went on to form Fine Young Cannibals.
