Singer Mark E. Smith's unmistakable drawling, sneering vocals and adroit lyrics have always been front and center.
BBC Radio 1 host John Peel is perhaps the band's most loyal fan, sticking by the Fall through countless personnel changes.
The Fall have released more than fifty records since their debut in 1977.
