The Ventures

One of the most prolific instrumental bands of the '60s, the Ventures are best known for the theme to "Hawaii 5-0".
The Ventures' first hit was a cover of the Chet Atkins jazz instrumental "Walk, Don't Run."
The Ventures managed to ride out Surf music's waning popularity through the British Invasion into the early '70s.
Guitar-playing masonry workers Bob Bogle and Don Wilson began playing together in the Seattle area in 1958.
Bassist Nokie Edwards and drummer Howie Johnson were enlisted to record. This lineup stayed intact for eight albums.
