Udit Narayan's career took off when he sang the award-winning "Papa Kehte" from 1988's "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak." Narayan actually began as a folk singer in Nepal, performing for Kathmandu Radio. Narayan studied classical music for six years at the Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan in Mumbai while waiting for his big break.
