Blink-182, Green Day, 3 Doors Down and Uncle Kracker are among those giving tracks to the soundtrack for the forthcoming teen flick American Pie II. The disc, slated for a July 31st release, collects a handful of previously released tunes as well as a few recorded expressly for the collection. The film itself, which opens August 10th, details the original gang's sexploits in the summer following their first year away at college.
3 Doors Down offer up the record's first single, a new version of "Be Like That," a track originally released on their 2000 debut The Better Life, which has been reworked with new lyrics. The Mississippi quartet will be shooting a video for the song this week in the U.K. with AP II cast members in tow.
Other acts contributing new material include Uncle Kracker ("I'm Gonna Split This Room in Half"), American Hi-Fi ("Vertigo"), Alien Ant Farm ("Good for a Woman") and Flying Blind ("Smokescreen"). Green Day's donation, "Scumbag," originally appeared as B-side to their "Warning" single, while Blink's cut, "Everytime I Look for You," appears on their upcoming album, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket.
