Harry Connick, Jr.

Jazz pianist, keeper of the New Orleans R&B flame, Sinatra-esque crooner, and succesful movie actor.
Most of the songs on Connick's hit soundtrack for "When Harry Met Sally" don't actually appear in the movie.
For most of the 1990s Connick concentrated more on New Orleans R&B than jazz or swing.
Ellis Marsalis, patriarch of the jazz dynasty that includes Wynton and Branford, was the young Connick's teacher.
