(NEW YORK) - Just when you thought that electronica couldn't produce any more unlikely stars than the Prodigy, "X-Files" actress Gillian Anderson has teamed up with Virgin Records to compile Future: A Journey Through The Electronic Underground. Drawing upon the spectrum of electronic music that Anderson heard while hosting the BBC-TV documentary series "Future Fantastic," the 2-CD set includes new and classic material by Future Sound Of London, Photek, Brian Eno, Chemical Brothers, David Sylvian, Massive Attack, and Paul Schultze. The centerpiece of the set is the single "Extremis," crafted by ambient collective HAL and featuring breathy vocals by Anderson. The track was quietly released May 20; "Future" streets July 29.
