Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead said the band stands “at the ready to be of service” for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. The surviving members of the Dead last performed together at an Obama fundraiser in San Francisco in February.The Flaming Lips will contribute a new song, “Cosmic Trigger 2,” to the soundtrack to the fishing documentary Okie Noodling II. The song is a nod to the track the Lips recorded for the original 2001 film.Rage Against the Machine’s Zach de la Rocha will release an EP with his side project One Day As a Lion on July 22nd. The band also features ex-Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore.
