(NEW YORK) - Elektra Entertainment plans a Sept. 23 release of The Next Voice You Hear: The Best Of Jackson Browne, the first-ever anthology of the singer/songwriter's work. The collection features 13 classic Browne tracks from throughout his career; all are included in their original versions, although there are some "touch-ups," according to Elektra. The set also has two newly recorded songs: "The Rebel Jesus" (originally cut by the Chieftains with Browne on backing vocals) and "The Next Voice You Hear," which goes to radio Sept. 15 as the first single. An Elektra spokesperson told Billboard Bulletin that Browne probably will begin a tour next spring or summer. No word yet on Browne's next studio work.
